The New Year of 2024 is just around the corner and many people are excited and ready. The New Year usually means people set new personal goals for themselves which could include health and fitness, mindset, budgeting, etc. But if you think about it, many people make the same goals every year and most of those people forget about those goals only a few months into the year because they are “too difficult” or you “don’t have enough time”. So here is a list of ten ideas to start the new year off great and to have a unique goal that anyone can easily follow.
1. 5-minute Journaling
Not everyone is very fond of writing but if you just start once a day for five minutes, just writing down whatever you want, I promise it will change your whole day and it will become something that can be a habit. Pro tip: Doing it in the morning will be the most beneficial
2.. Start a new hobby
Growing your mind is one of the best things you could do for yourself. Also you may find your passion through hobbies.
3. Delayed Gratification
Before you go and watch a show or be lazy or do something fun, try and do something productive for at least 10 minutes before you start. You will find that your gratification will be much more meaningful and feel so much better if you do so.
4. Put yourself out there.
Practicing bravery and courage is great for your self esteem and mental health in general. The more practice you get the braver and courageous you will become. Plus it’s good to express yourself
5. Make your bed every morning
Making your bed every morning has proven to help with the rest of your day and it starts the day off with completing something
6. Write down Lists
Writing down to-do lists and goals on paper will help you achieve them. If they are written on paper then you will always be reminded of them and motivated to do them.
7. Clean Up
Picking up litter or just cleaning small things around the house will boost your esteem because each little thing you do, you will feel more accomplished each time
8. Stay Organized
Once a week just organize your email, workspace, bathroom, etc. It will help a lot in the long run and you will be able to be more productive
9. Cook More Often
Try cooking. It is cheaper than eating out, healthier, and you might end up making delicious foods that are even better than restaurants or fast foods can make.
10. Practice Self care
Finally, make sure you have some time for self care. Life can get busy and crazy, but resetting every once in a while can be very good for you
New years goals may seem like they have to be big, life changing things. In reality small goals lead to bigger goals and they are easier to accomplish. Just following any one of the goals above can be life changing and you will thank yourself for committing to them. Happy New Years!
