High school is a crucial phase of your life when you have to make important decisions regarding your career path and how to achieve your goals. There are various options available after high school such as attending college to earn a degree, pursuing a vocational school education to obtain a license in a specific trade, or taking a risk by starting your own business.
Entrepreneurship has become increasingly popular in the US over the past three years, with a 9% rise in the number of people starting their businesses. Social media has played a major role in this trend, with platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram providing opportunities for people to start their businesses. At Palmer Ridge, students have also started to pursue entrepreneurship by launching their businesses and services, such as clothing brands, custom art sales, and car detailing services.
Zach Lichtenegger (12) is a student who has started his car detailing business called Supreme Car Detailing. He started by detailing his car and realized he could make money by offering his services to others. He asked his family and friends if they were interested, and some agreed while others declined. Zach is determined to grow his business and eventually hire employees to work with him.
Former student, Ryan Malone (11), has a passion for entrepreneurship. While he was still a student at PR he created a clothing brand named M&R Warehouse. Then after he left school he proceeded to create more businesses for different purposes, with different people. He loves to be his boss and make something out of nothing.
And Wolfgang Davis (12), is very good at playing the guitar and also talented with many other instruments and with music in general. He loves music so much in fact that he wrote and produced his very first song and put it up on Spotify and other platforms.
Also, ask around the school. Many people probably have many different business ideas that they just haven’t put in place. If one doesn’t know anything about entrepreneurship and wants to learn more about it, Palmer Ridge offers a year-long class called “Intro to Entrepreneurship” that only requires a few requisites before taking. Other business classes are available to take. There have been so many people jumping on the entrepreneurship bandwagon ever since COVID-19 started. Many of these people have been successful.
There are so many different career options for everyone, and with entrepreneurship, there are so many more options! One of the great things about being your boss is that you get to create your hours and have your own time off to fit your everyday schedule perfectly how you want it. All it takes is hard work and dedication and anyone can reach their dreams.
