Taylor Swift The Eras Tour is a 2-year long tour that Taylor Swift has been increasingly taking over the United States. On July 15 and 14, Taylor reached the Empower Stadium, you could say the entire state could hear the “Shake It Off” . Surprisingly, she became the first singer to sell out two shows, and she broke attendance at the stadium. During her two nights in Denver, not only did Taylor bring in fans from all over the world to see her show in Denver, she boosted the city’s economy by $140 million. You could say one for the money, two for the show..
The Eras tour is about a 3 hour long show, where Taylor plays multiple songs from all of her albums. So in some ways, it’s like 10 concerts in one. Taylor also puts on an amazing show and performance, playing a grand piano on stage, diving underwater (the stage), going through outfit changes, and dancing for hours. While going back in time to look at the different Eras of Taylor Swift, from country, to R&B, to pop, the Eras Tour concert has struck North America. Everyone seemed to be happy because as Taylor says, Baby that’s the fun of me.
So far, the Eras Tour has 146 Tours stretching from Tampa to Seattle. The tour started in March of this year, and will end November next year. Her average attendance is around 72,000. For comparison, Kanye West’s Donda Concert had 40,000 attendees. Karma is a real thing, and as T. Swizzle said herself, Me and Karma vibe like that. Why is there so much hype surrounding the tour and why are people spending thousands of dollars for her concerts? Well it is said that Taylor is putting her music career on hold to live a life of directing. She has directed almost all of her music videos, and she makes a simple video into a video filled with art and Easter eggs for her fans.
If you have been up to recent news, Taylor has been re-releasing all her new albums and adding (Taylor’s Version) to the album name. In 2019, Scooter Braun, bought the record label that owns Taylor’s first 6 albums. She was heartbroken to hear this because he would now make commission from her music. Taylor Swift never liked Scooter, he was a representative of Justin Bieber and Kanye West. So now, when Taylor re-releases her albums, she is getting all of the ownership and profits from her music back.
Roxy Palmer and Bailey Holt are Sophomores, during the summer they had the opportunity to see the Era’s Tour live. They both went to separate nights but they both described the concert as being a high-energy amazing concert. At the Era’s Tour concert, they both said everyone in the crowd was the most welcoming and kind-hearted people you would ever meet. Not only in Denver the crowd was bouncy and energetic, but in Seattle the fans jumped so much it was registered at a 2.3 magnitude earthquake nearby.
Getting tickets for a once-in-a-lifetime concert was like having to type an essay in an hour, you had to act quick and be smart. When Roxy Palmer was getting tickets, she signed into the queue right at 10:00 am sharp, and she and her sister still had to wait 5 hours until they could get tickets. Bail Holt on the other hand, was lucky enough to win tickets from a radio station. She entered the contest as a joke but when they won, it was a sign from Taylor Swift. They got great seats and she said the mayor of Denver was a few rows back. Both Roxy and Bailey both mentioned that everyone dressed up in different outfits and Eras.
Overall the Era’s Tour seems like an amazing experience and if you went, I’m very jealous. The Era’s tour might be Taylor’s final tour, and if it is, she is going big or going home.
