Want a hearty soup that can last for several days? Want to start a cooking hobby but don’t know what to cook? This soup recipe is the perfect way to sustain yourself while also being fun to make. I’ve been making it since I was twelve and I haven’t died yet so how bad can it be?
This recipe calls for:
- 8 cups of water
- 4 teaspoons of chicken bouillon
- 1 bag of Grandma’s Egg Noodles (found in the freezer section of most grocery stores, mainly King Soopers)
- 1 family-sized can of cream of chicken soup
- Shredded chicken, measured with your heart
- 2/3 cups of sour cream
- However many spices you want
You can mess with many of these measurements, but start with adding about 8 cups of water to a pot and add your bouillon. Bring it to a boil and then add your egg noodles, make sure they aren’t frozen (two minutes in the microwave works). Let the noodles boil for 13 minutes, or until they reach your preferred texture. Once the noodles are cooked, add the cream of chicken soup and stir until it fully mixes with the soup, adding the shredded chicken helps with the mixing. After that, add your sour cream and stir until it fully mixes as well. Your soup is pretty much done at this point, so feel free to add whatever spices and flavorings you like, garlic powder and crazy salt is a solid choice if you aren’t feeling too creative.
And that’s the recipe! It does take a little while and you get an arm workout from all the stirring but it’s worth it for some delicious soup.
