This is a fun cookie recipe from Matthew Merril (@matthewinthekitchen) on TikTok. They are pretty easy to make and taste super good when they’re done!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 sticks of butter
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 drops Vanilla
  • Blue food coloring
  • 2 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of white chocolate chips
  • Hershey’s chocolate bar

The first thing you’re going to do is melt 1 1/2 sticks of butter, and once it is melted, add the brown and white sugar. Mix it all together and you should get a caramelly-looking mixture.

The next step is to add the egg and egg yolk. Whisk everything together, and add lots of food coloring! It takes a lot of food coloring for the color to really show once they’re cooked.

Now you’re going to add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Mix it all together and add all the chocolate chips! You can modify the amount you want to put in the cookies, as it doesn’t have to be that much. Here, I added a couple drops of vanilla and two teaspoons of water because we’re at such a high altitude.

After all the ingredients have been mixed, grab a baking sheet and scoop the batter into spoon-sized pieces. Add a piece of chocolate bar in to the middle and fold the batter over it. Keep doing this until there is no batter left. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.

Once the cookies are ready to eat, let them cool (or eat them right away), and enjoy!
