Congratulations to our Science Olympiad team! Over the weekend, the results of the Science Olympiad State Competition, held on April 10th, were released. The PRHS team placed 6th in the overall competition, with Ethan Michon and Ben Carlander earning 3rd place in the Gravity Vehicles Event.

“We scored 10th place as a team at regionals and were able to bump up to 6th place at state. Every single person on our team performed amazingly and now we get a team trophy,” said Michon.

“We still don’t have all of the final results, but every competitor really upped their game for this competition! We are so proud of their performance and perseverance in a very challenging competition.”

What exactly is Science Olympiad all about? Team member Zoe Johnson explains: “Science Olympiad is a team competition covering pretty much every subject of science you could want to learn about. We have teams of 15 and 2 or 3 people compete in each event (usually people do 3-4 events [each]). We were happy to be able to compete in person together at the school for the state competition, so it was great to have the chance to hang out with our awesome team! Also, we got 6th in state, so not too shabby!”

Great job, Science Olympiad!
