It’s all in the nutmeg.

I am aware of the fact that some people do not like eggnog. Though I personally think that this is a crying shame and that eggnog is one of the most magical holiday drinks out there (yes, I’d take it over hot chocolate), I know quite a few people who much prefer just about anything over eggnog.
To that particular audience, I present to you for your approval: Eggnog French Toast. Though it is in no way revolutionary, Eggnog French Toast brings a holiday twist to a classic breakfast option that’s already almost perfect as it is. Whatever you find undesirable in eggnog is easily masked in this recipe; rather, it highlights its best flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup eggnog
- 3/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4 slices bread
- Mix the egg, eggnog, nutmeg, and cinnamon together with a fork in a shallow dish until combined and the yolk is evenly distributed.

2. Soak a slice of bread in the egg mixture– make sure to flip the bread to cover each side evenly. Repeat for the other three slices.

3. Cook each slice in a frying pan on medium heat, about one minute on each side, until the bread is no longer soggy.

4. Serve the french toast with butter, maple syrup, or any other topping of your choice!
